Political Rivals

Austin, Texas

They shouldn't. They should vote for terrible pop country, disco, or gangster rap.

About Political Rivals

Political Rivals was born in June of 2010 when producer/composer Chris Cook and the singer/guitarist of Tin Can Phone, Matt Rusin, decided to start an experimental side project via the Internet.

This half synthetic – half organic Frankenstein child was formed by utilizing both of their unique musical styles. The goal of the group would be to create timeless songs with top quality production value. The only problem was the two musicians live nearly 2,000 miles apart.

Matt Rusin is based out of the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin, TX and Chris Cook lives in his home town of Grand Rapids, MI. Some would see this as a problem but the two musicians quickly found their groove by passing tracks back and forth until each and every sound byte was in it’s rightful place.

In the short time this duo has been around they’ve already been able to make some major television placements such as Showtime’s “Californication” and the premier episode of Vh1′s “Audrina”.

With the unique blend of styles and instrumentation the two musicians bring to the table, Political Rivals are making a name for themselves as true artists in the music industry.
